I like June! Every year I have two big moments when I reflect on where I am and where am I heading. I am doing this every June & September, and this podcast’s episode could not have come at a better time.
I had the chance to meet Daniel a few years ago and he is one of the people that no matter where he is, makes the world a better place. He has a true passion for seeing the young generation living for God.
Daniel is helping us start season 3 of tgeneration podcast and while I named the episode Finding your place, which was the main topic, listening closely to our discussion, I noticed that his main ideas are not just about finding your place, but they are real principles, keys I might say on how we can live our life better. On how we can be a better version of ourselves.
Here are a few highlights from what he mentioned that stayed with me:
- Don’t live in a place wishing to be somewhere else – famous saying ”your home is where your heart is” – if you are struggling with the season that you are in (place or even the church that you are a part of), make a conscious decision to give your best no matter what you are feeling right now.
‘’Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” Jeremiah 29:7
2. Maximize the season that you are in – cherish all those little things that you get to do. Use the time that you were given to grow, to build your skills (even during a pandemic). Don’t look at the negative, choose to focus on the good, because when you do that, the good gets better.
3. Calling – as Christians, we have a tendency (quite often) to ask ourselves what is our calling. Don’t complicate your life! What are you doing right now? What are you good at? What talents are praised by those around you? Stop jumping from one interest to another! Focus on one thing at a time, become skilled in that one thing and the rest will follow.
4. Every time you meet someone, bring value to that person’s life – leave that person better than you found it.
5. Don’t assume that you know what others are thinking and feeling – ask questions and don’t be too quick to draw conclusions.
Don’t be overwhelmed by the road ahead of you.
Find joy in the moment and stay inspired. Let’s not forget that the journey is as important as the destination.
